Hello Friends,
On this blog, I'll share with you various ideas and tricks regarding UPSC Civil Services Exam.
1. Setting Your Goal :
Setting a goal is the first and the most important step towards cracking this exam, because when you board a train you should know why you are taking up the journey ? and where would you arrive ? and will you be satisfied ?
This Civil Services exam require a good amount of clarity and planning and finally "GREAT ENTHUSIASM" and "AN INDOMITABLE WILL POWER".
Before you begin the journey, make sure you are :
i) Aware of the Challenges ahead :
It's quite normal that most of us knew the duty and the prestige associated with these Civil Services exams, but are you aware of the challenges associated with these exams and post exam challenges as well as consequences before joining and after joining.
Being a future administrator, you should be aware of these challenges and a virtual plan and strategy should be prepared so as to tackle this exam i.e. Plan the Consequences in advance and make a strategy accordingly.
Although, I would upload certain plans soon but i would like you to come up with your own plan and strategy as it will improve your planning abilities.
ii) Mentally Prepared :
I had mentioned about challenges associated with this exam and one of them is being mentally sharp and tough, although you may have realized throughout your life that some people have exceptional mental power and I assure you that you could also discover your hidden power if you would work on it properly, it's just like body building i.e. You simply cannot pump 40 kg of Iron on day one, but with time, patience and hard work you can surely level up yourself and the same happens with our brain power it also need regular exercise.
So behave like an administrator which would help you in making a strong and powerful decision making person all it needs is a regular practice to recall things and dates and associate them with each other and at the end; play with your information like either quiz your friends or take up some related project work.
Last but not least, it's all about your temperament i.e. Be a cool minded and calm person, nothing should disturb your preparation and inner peace, its like "An entire ocean of water cannot, sank a ship until it gets inside it." So have a strong hold of your mind and don't let external factors affect you in anyway. Don't give a damn to them.
ii) Financial Stability :
Everything looks fresh and in control at the initial stages of the preparation, but as the syllabus is huge; it becomes really hard to handle the things at later stage and then you suddenly realise that now neither you have job nor you have preparation in your control, so if you are financially prosperous and have good family support then you should work hard, else you should also have a backup plan if things go wrong. Backup plan in the sense is that you should have a job with you wherein you can have time for your preparation.
iii) Physically prepared :
Whether you opt for IPS or not, you should have a good exercise or Yoga or Meditation schedule on a daily basis, as it helps to detoxify your body and also boosts your immunity levels. So that you are always physically prepared to face any untoward incident; be it of Woman harassment or of Personal Integrity and Security.
iv) Emotionally Prepared :
Yes, stress will be there throughout your preparation, and its up to you how you tackle it; i.e. do you overthink on problems or just let them go. You should adjust your mind in such a way that you could easily handle/beat stress by watching daily comedy series, some YouTube comedy videos, talking to your close friends, or by playing some games, etc. Also take this exam in a non serious way but along that make things interesting, like you should think how UPSC and other administrators think. i.e. to think from their perspective. Take this exam as a game and play it with full zeal; its not about whether we win or we lose but its about how well we played, either you'll become a "GREAT ADMINISTRATOR" or you will become a "GREAT CITIZEN" , but yes its a life changing experience guys. One should go for it.
v) Uplifting Company :
Finally, one of the most important factor that will influence your preparation will be the persons around you. Your thinking ability and decision making powers will get influenced by people around you, so don't get along with losers instead stay alone and find optimistic people for your preparation and the best place to find them is in library. Make new optimistic friends who would help you to explore your potential to its best and would prevent you from being narrow minded; this administration has enough of critics that's why they expect you to be hardworking and open minded.
All the Best Friends, Be careful and think a lot before taking this flying arrow in your life, Hope we all make it.
